Blueberry dumplings.

10th August, 2017
How amazing do these look? Dumplings with blueberries have been a tradition in my house ever since I remember. Whenever summer season starts, my mum always makes some amazing staff out of different fruit. From all kind of dishes, drinks, ice-cream to cakes! I've decided to give these a go as I've managed to get loads of juicy blueberries from the market today.
+ 0.5 kg of wheat flour +
+ 1 egg +
+ 1 tablespoon of oil +
+ salt +
+ 250 ml of warm boiled water +
+ 400g of berries +
+ 2 tablespoons of vanilla sugar +
Rinse berries and mix with vanilla sugar - do not mash, squash, blend etc. - keep them nice and solid. In a bowl add flour, egg, oil, salt and gradually add enough water to make the ingredients come together. Roll the dough so that it is smooth. The dough can not stick to the hands, but it must be soft enough to be easy to roll over. Divide dough into 3 - 4 parts and roll each of them out so that they are thin 2-3mm, sprinkling the stool and roller with flour. Using a glass, cut out circles out of the prepared dough. Put the berries in - 1 teaspoon in the middle of each dough circle. Using your thumb and index finger stick sides, forming a dumpling. Boil water (salted with a tablespoon of oil) in a large saucepan. Place dumplings into boiling water and cook for about 3 minutes until they come out. Occasionally stir. Serve with natural yogurt or cream mixed with sugar or honey.
